I had struggled with fitness and motivation after a number of injuries made me retire from my sport. I got heavy, slow and unfit. I really needed to change. I joined Matt's 12-week programme. He is a great motivator and my fitness improved dramatically - by the end I was lifting double the weights I started on, and nearly halved the time I took to complete fitness challenges, both of which gave me a great sense of achievement. When I met Matt I was following a very low calories and low fat diet to try loose weight and keep lean.Despite I was eating very clean and little, I couldn't loose weight and I was feeling frustrated.
At the beginning I was very stubborn and I wanted to keep my low fat / low calories diet as I was scared of changing my regime and routine.
Matt kept very professional, calm and after listening to my concerns and fears about nutrition and training , he managed to convince me to try to increase my total kcal per day , fats and carbs macros and decrease my protein intake that was far too high.
The way he successfully managed to change my diet still make me smile now when I think back to that day.As I said I was stubborn.


He also suggested more variety of things I could eat which are now regularly on my day to day diet.After only a month of balanced diet and weight / cardio training I lost body fat, inches on my waist and bum and I am getting stronger and energetic . I managed to lift heavy weights, go through challenging sessions and prove to myself that I've done the right choice to choose Matt as personal trainer .
I highly recommend Matt to anyone who is out there stuck on a plateau, or wants to lose weight , eat a balance diet and train properly but can't achieve results on their own. Matt is the most knowledgeable, motivating , down to earth person to guide them.

Matts program, without exception, has been the life changing experience I needed to finally shift the baby weight and in just 12 weeks, I reached my goal of almost 4 years, my pre-baby weight!

Well what can i say about Mr Matt Roots apart from he is a great trainer, motivator and all round nice guy. He is always there with advice if your having a bad food day or week or need that little extra help with training. His training sessions are planned well and enjoyable although still pushing you so u are achieving yr goals. 8 weeks in and 1.2 stone lighter , body fat % down and now fitting into my slim fit shirts instead of bursting out of them. I feel like i have done a true workout each time i train in the group with him. Its great to see the other guys too and what they have achieved with Matt, it pushes you on more wanting to get the results they have.
